A Dog A Dog

Made in collaboration with animation filmmakers during ‘Aesthetic Experience’- a workshop titled ‘Cycle of Life’ in digital media for Art Underground -  Baroda -  2001.

Why did I think of a dog?

I lost my father, my 2 pet dogs in Bombay and in Bastar and my brother within a span of three months in 2000 / 2001 and at that point, I extensively read about the philosophy of the cycle of life and about dogs as companions.

According to Plutarch – a Greek philosopher who lived in the latter half of the 1st century A.D. “a dog symbolizes the philosophical principle of life, a culture hero and mythical ancestor”. Also, having been a companion in life it continues as such after death and interprets between the dead and the gods.
